Their role will be key to ensuring that the project responds to real health needs and actively involves the community.\u00a0<strong>Generaciones Fotovoltaicas de la Mancha<\/strong>\u00a0acts in this project as a technical advisor through volunteering with the GFM Renovables Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>San Juan de Dios Hospital<\/strong>\u00a0itself is an essential partner, as it not only defines needs and priorities but also provides the facilities and land, ensures the integration of the solution into hospital operations, and is committed to the maintenance and sustainability of the system. This alliance ensures that the project is technically sound, socially accepted, and sustainable in the long term.<\/p>\n<p>The project guarantees its sustainability through economic efficiency, technical reliability, and social impact. With a total budget of\u00a0<strong>\u20ac199,197<\/strong>\u00a0(75% requested from the A2E Fund), the solar system will reduce the hospital's electricity costs by more than\u00a0<strong>80%<\/strong>\u00a0(\u20ac20,000 annually), decrease diesel consumption, and lower emissions. The maintenance plan includes staff training, agreements with local suppliers, and remote monitoring, all backed by long-life equipment (more than 20 years for panels and more than 10 for batteries).<\/p>\n<p>Beyond energy, the project brings social benefits: agricultural land managed by women for food and income, cold rooms for food and medicine, and the electrification of staff housing to improve talent retention. Risks, such as customs delays or technical failures, are mitigated thanks to previous experience, redundancy, and backup systems. The project is economically efficient, technically robust, and socially transformative.<\/p>\n<p>This project is a\u00a0<strong>strong candidate<\/strong>\u00a0for the A2E Fund, as it provides access to sustainable energy to a reference hospital in rural Kenya, which serves more than 25,000 patients a year. Its impact is\u00a0<strong>immediate and vital<\/strong>, ensuring a reliable electricity supply for surgeries, emergencies, and vaccine conservation, directly benefiting more than 25,000 people and indirectly 100,000. The solution is\u00a0<strong>sustainable and replicable<\/strong>: it reduces electricity costs by more than 80%, replaces diesel with solar energy, and is backed by a solid maintenance and training plan.
