Access to drinking water in Ethiopia
This is the installation of an autonomous and portable 20 kWp microgrid designed for pumping from pockets of water in the subsoil. The finite availability of the water resource means that once the water bag is exhausted, the installation of the system in another location is necessary, hence the portable nature of the solution in a 20-foot maritime container, and its rapid deployment and commissioning Plug Y jugar.
Likewise, the solution includes an integrated photovoltaic electricity generation system, with storage, capable of hybridizing with a generating set. This allows full use of the solar resource at times when the radiation is not sufficient for use in the pumping application.
In this way, in addition to obtaining water, the electrification of local areas around the location of the wells is allowed.
This project has been financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) in collaboration with the NGO Rescate, and has been executed in the Ethiopian town of Hare.
