Generaciones Fotovoltaicas de la Mancha celebrated its 25th Anniversary on Thursday, May 29th, reaffirming its commitment to innovation and leadership in the field of renewable energy.
The event, hosted by journalist Marina Moreno from La Mancha, featured speeches from the company’s Founding Partners and current CEO—Francisco Comendador, Vicente Maqueda, and Javier Bustos, respectively—as well as the Mayor of Villacañas, Juan Ángel Almonacid, and the Director General for Energy Transition, Alipio García Rodríguez.
In his speech, Javier Bustos acknowledged that reaching this 25-year milestone has involved “both good and difficult times,” highlighting the company’s strong commitment to R&D&I (Research, Development, and Innovation), which has allowed GFM to maintain product independence and preserve everything it has achieved over the years.
He also expressed gratitude for the support received from the regional government, and especially for the dedication and hard work of everyone who is part of GFM: “a team of people without whom we wouldn’t be here today.”
Vicente Maqueda, for his part, expressed his happiness at reaching this point and his eagerness to celebrate another 25 years together.
Francisco Comendador described GFM as “the story of two friends who decided to start a business they knew nothing about,” and took the opportunity to thank “the effort and dedication” of all the employees who have been part of GFM over the past 25 years, noting that “none of this would have been possible without them.”
He also expressed appreciation for the trust placed in them by clients, as well as the support and commitment of suppliers and everyone who has collaborated with the project at some point.
Juan Ángel Almonacid, Mayor of Villacañas, stated that GFM reaching its 25th anniversary “is not a matter of chance, but the result of hard work, a forward-looking vision, and a firm commitment to a sustainable development model.”
The mayor thanked the company for choosing Villacañas as the starting point for its project, “building a solid path committed to the heart of our land.” For Almonacid, GFM represents “the best” of the entrepreneurial spirit of La Mancha, with 100% Castilla-La Mancha capital, “demonstrating that leading-edge projects with a clear commitment to our planet can be launched from our towns.”
Alipio García Rodríguez, Director General for Energy Transition of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, noted that GFM is one of the companies the regional government feels “proud” of, because of its “drive, adaptability, and sensitivity toward sustainability.” He also praised the “great work” carried out by GFM through the GFM Foundation, emphasizing that the company has become “a regional and national benchmark,” and also one with international projection.
