Supply of a back-up system for CERER, a center dependent on the University of Dakar in Senegal
GFM has supplied a back-up system for the Center d'Etudes et de Recherches sur les Energies Renouvelables (CERER) dependent on the University of Dakar in Senegal. The objective is to build an alternative system to ensure supply in locations with a high frequency of electrical cuts and blackouts. In addition, the students will use the installation as a test bed, for this reason, GFM technicians have taken advantage of the installation to train the center's staff, trying to ensure that the system can be used as a teaching resource in the future.
The proposed system is made up of an AC-DC coupling, composed of a 3kVA grid inverter that will serve the loads in self-consumption mode. The surpluses will be stored in lithium batteries thanks to a 3kW inverter-charger. As a complement to the system, charge regulators are included to store current in batteries directly from the modules. The installation is being monitored, and can be controlled remotely in case of unforeseen events.
